Placement: Different placements in a 4* hotel on Gran Canaria, Canary Islands (Spain).

This hotel chain exists of 4 high quality accommodations on the sunny island Gran Canaria. The accommodations are apartments, apart hotels, bungalows and villas.  The hotel has based everything on their concept ‘relaxation’. This hotel wants to create an atmosphere where the guest can enjoy a perfect holiday in Gran Canaria.

Job description:
The company is looking for interns in different positions. They are looking for interns at the direction, reception, reservations, marketing, administration and purchase and computing / IT.
With this internship you will develop skills such as communication and organization skills.
You will be immersed in a multilingual environment so they will be able to learn and practice languages.

Requirements:
All the positions requires fluent English, Spanish AND German, and educational background of the position.

Tasks:

Direction:
-planning and organizing accommodation, catering and other hotel services;
-managing budgets and financial plans as well as controlling expenditure;
-setting and achieving sales and profit targets;
-planning work schedules for individuals and teams;
-dealing with customer complaints and comments and contractors and suppliers;
-ensuring events and conferences run smoothly;
-supervising maintenance, supplies, renovations and furnishings;

Reception:
-Check guests in and out
-Plan and organize group arrivals
-Assist in cash advances, exchange money, check guest folios
-Commercial information to customers 

 Reservations: 
-
Assisting in Front Office as required, especially with guest check in and check out
-Day to day processing and input of group reservations while following hotel reservations policy
-Liaising with other departments to prepare for group arrival
-Assisting Front office with closing of accounts
-Answering all calls promptly in a courteous and efficient manner
-Ensuring all reservations are accurately actioned within the same working day

                   


Marketing
-Site Inspection Protocols
-Prepare business trips (brochures, business cards, appointments, hotel bookings)
-Travel Industry Programs
-Knowledge and assistance to important meetings
-Follow up Calls
-DHL and normal mail 
-Developing Markets

Administration and Purchases: 
-Print and Control Daily Financial Reports
-Control Daily Payments
-Control Travel Agencies Vouchers and Commissions
-Be in contact with guests to resolve billing defections
-Follow up on incidences
-Negotiate on better prices with distributors
-Prepare Month End Closings
-Control Purchasing procedures of all departments
-Bank Reconciliation

Computing / IT:
- Maintain network security and backups

- Coordinate issue resolution with helpdesk
 -Support end users on desktop and network applications
 -Install, configure and maintain servers, switches, PCs and printers
 -Help monitor and enforce of IT policies and procedures
- Suggest, develop and implement technology enhancements where appropriate


Working hours:

40 hours per week
