5 countries where you can study abroad for free!
Studying abroad is one of the greatest experiences of your life! You will meet a lot of new people, gain new experiences, explore a whole new culture. Furthermore, your personality and view of the world will change.
Nevertheless, all of these positive experiences come with a price. And can therefore be one of the best but also one of the most expensive experiences in your life. Some countries like the United States, Australia, Hong Kong and Canada charge for example incredible high tuition fees.
So how can we counter this and find the best solution?
Well, the answer is very simple: go to one of the five countries I will tell you about. They will still be absolutely beautiful and yet have a very cheap education system. This means they charge no or a minimal fee to international students. Thus, you don’t need to pay the equivalent of a new car (+-€22.000) each year for your tuition. The only real costs you will have are your accommodation and living expenses. However, to get admitted to the universities, requirements can be pretty high. We advise you to apply at least a year in advance.
On the other hand, you will at least have the same experience as you normally would get in other expensive countries.
So enough talk, let’s get ready to meet the best countries where you can study abroad for free.
1) GERMANY
The first country I will be talking about is Germany, the fifth-biggest country in Europe. It is well known for its football team, where the education level is even as good. Germany is a very interesting and beautiful place to live in. Add the fact that the tuition is free and there you have your new country to study in. However, your German study adventure won’t be completely free. You will still have to pay a few hundred dollars for miscellaneous fees. Besides that, the costs of your Student Rooms and living expenses are also yours to take care of.
If you’re interested in studying abroad in Germany, please keep in mind that there are some requirements for international students.
The first one is the language barrier. You will need to prove that you have sufficient knowledge of the German language before you can be admitted.
The second obstacle is that you need to have your high school diploma accredited by German universities.
Although these small affairs, you will have the time of your life. Since you will be surrounded by more than 100.000 other international students who are on the same adventure.
2) FINLAND
The second country we will talk about is Finland. Finland’s school system has constantly been at the top of the international rankings for education systems. Above all, you will be able to study there without any tuition fees. Additionally, Finlands provides fully subsidized meals for full-time students.
Forget the feeling of loneliness, since you will be accompanied by almost 30.000 international students in Finland.
The right choice for students who want to be in the centre of it all in Helsinki. Modern architecture, a great nightlife, surrounded by the sea. These are just some of the highlights of this beautiful city. So head over to Student Rooms in Helsinki and start the adventure of your lifetime in Finland.
3) NORWAY
The third country I will discuss is Norway. This country will prove to be an ideal study destination for every student.
They offer a lot of opportunities for international students. Furthermore, they are able to provide you with tuition-fee studies!
The teachers in Norway are very open and easily approachable. I mean, you will never feel like you’re insignificant because courses often take place in small groups.
Furthermore, the institutions will have well equipped and modern computer amenities with free Internet access.
However, you could encounter some problems. Things like rent and food tend to cost more compared to their countries. Either way, you will also encounter amazing interactions with the friendly Norwegian people. Combined with more than 15.000 international students there, we are sure that you will make new friends in no time.
4) SWEDEN
The fourth country will be Sweden. The universities offer a range of different scholarship programs for international students to help cover tuition fees or living costs.
The main focus in Sweden’s education is teamwork. Therefore, it will be the perfect moment to put theory into practice. Furthermore, you will be surrounded by innovation and creativity. The acquired skills will certainly contribute to your future career.
5) AUSTRIA
Austria, concentrated in the heart of Europe, could be your next study destination. Their combination of higher education and incredible achievements on an international level has brought them an impeccable and valuable reputation.
The good news, you don’t need a visa to study in Austria. On the other hand, you will need to apply for a residence permit from the local resident registration office. As for the language part, it will be the same as trying to study in Germany. You will need to prove that you have a B1/B2 knowledge of the German language.
Although the country enjoys a high standard of living, the prices are more reasonable than you would expect.
If you’re looking for some new international friends, Austria is an extremely popular destination. A quarter of their student population comes from abroad, therefore there will be no lack of potential friends.
